When you swap tokens in the Ready app, you'll see the Best price section on the transaction preview screen.
Next to it is the settings icon, where you can adjust your slippage tolerance.
What is slippage tolerance?
Slippage is the difference between the price shown when you create a trade and the price at which the trade is ultimately executed.
This can happen when market prices move or when there's limited liquidity for the token you're trading.
By default, Ready uses a 1% slippage tolerance.
This means your swap will only complete if the final execution price is within 1% of the quoted price.
If the market moves beyond your selected slippage tolerance before the transaction is executed, the swap will fail instead of completing at a less favorable price.
Can I change the slippage tolerance?
Yes.
Tap the settings icon next to Best price on the transaction preview screen to increase or decrease your slippage tolerance.
A lower slippage tolerance gives you more price protection, but your transaction is more likely to fail if the market moves before it's executed.
A higher slippage tolerance makes it more likely that your transaction will succeed, but you may receive a slightly different price than the one originally quoted.
Does slippage always make my trade more expensive?
No.
Slippage can be either positive or negative.
If the market moves in your favor before your trade is executed, you may receive a better price than originally quoted. If the market moves against you, your trade may execute at a slightly less favorable price, provided it remains within your selected slippage tolerance.
