Starknet now supports native USDC issued directly by Circle.
As a result, you may see two versions of USDC in Ready and Ready X:
- USDC – the native version issued by Circle.
- USDC.e – the older bridged version of USDC.
Why are there two versions of USDC?
USDC.e was introduced before native USDC became available on Starknet.
Now that Circle issues USDC directly on Starknet, both versions may exist while users gradually migrate from USDC.e to native USDC.
Why should I migrate to native USDC?
Native USDC is the recommended version because it is:
- Issued directly by Circle.
- Not dependent on a bridge.
- Better supported across the Starknet ecosystem.
- The version that will continue to be supported going forward.
USDC.e will be phased out over time.
How do I migrate to native USDC?
If your account is eligible for migration, you'll see a USDC migration notice in the Ready app.
Follow the on-screen instructions to migrate your USDC.e balance to native USDC.
Do I need to migrate immediately?
No.
There's no immediate deadline, and USDC.e will be phased out gradually. However, we recommend migrating when prompted to ensure you're using the supported version of USDC.
Will my funds be affected?
No.
Migrating from USDC.e to native USDC doesn't change the value of your funds. It simply replaces the older bridged token with the new native version of USDC on Starknet.
