How to migrate funds to Ready X from Ready mobile account on Starknet

Ready X is Ready’s self-custody wallet for Starknet. You can use it to send and receive assets, swap tokens, stake, manage DeFi positions, and bridge assets to other networks.

You can move your assets to Ready X either before or after the Ready app moves to Base. Moving them before the update is the fastest and easiest option.

Before you start

Download Ready X and create an account:

We recommend creating a smart account using your email address for additional protection.

If you need to create a new Ready X account, you must use a different email address from the one linked to your Ready account. You can also use a suffixed email address if your email provider supports it, for example:

youremail+readyx@gmail.com

Emails sent to this address will still arrive in your usual Gmail inbox.

Ready X is secured by a seed phrase. Write it down, store it somewhere safe, and never share it with anyone. If you write it down manually, compare every word and its order with the seed phrase shown in Ready X before continuing.

Ready will never ask for your seed phrase.

Move your assets before the Ready app moves to Base

Before the update, you can send your assets to Ready X using the regular Send function in the Ready app.

  1. Open Ready X and copy your Starknet account address.
  2. Open the Ready app.
  3. Select the asset you want to move.
  4. Tap Send.
  5. Paste your Ready X Starknet address.
  6. Compare the full pasted address with the address shown in Ready X. Check every character rather than only the beginning and end.
  7. Choose the amount you want to send.
  8. Review and confirm the transaction.
  9. Repeat these steps for each asset you hold.

Your assets will appear in Ready X once the transactions are confirmed on Starknet.

Make sure you send the assets to your Starknet address in Ready X. Do not use a Base, Ethereum, or other network address. Sending funds to an address on the wrong network may result in permanent loss.

Are my assets safe if I have not moved them yet?

Yes.

Your assets remain onchain on Starknet and under your control. However, moving them before the Ready app moves to Base is faster and easier than accessing them afterwards.

Move your assets after the Ready app update

When you update the Ready app, a new Base account will be created for you.

This is a new account, so it will not initially contain the assets held in your old Ready account on Starknet. Your Starknet assets have not disappeared or moved. They remain on Starknet and under your control.

To access them:

  1. Open the updated Ready app.
  2. Tap Looking for your funds?
  3. Tap See portfolio to view the assets remaining in your Starknet account.

You will then see the available options for moving your assets to Ready X:

  • Send to Ready X, which is recommended for most users.
  • Import on Ready X, which transfers control of your entire existing Starknet account to Ready X.

Both options do not have any wait period, the process can take less than 5 minutes. 

Choose the option based on the types of assets you hold and whether you need to keep your existing Starknet account address and transaction history. 

Option 1: Send your assets to a Ready X account Recommended

Why should I choose this option?

Choose Send to Ready X if:

  • You want the simplest and recommended way to move your assets.
  • You hold tokens that can be transferred normally, such as ETH, wBTC, STRK, or other supported tokens.
  • You hold transferable tokenized DeFi assets, including supported Vesu, Nostra, or Endur positions.
  • You do not have NFTs, STRK staking positions, borrowing positions, or other assets that cannot be transferred using a standard Send transaction.
  • You want to use a new Ready X smart account with email-based 2FA.
  • You do not want to reveal, export, or handle the private key of your old Ready account.

This option sends the selected assets from your old Ready Starknet account to another Starknet account that you control in Ready X.

What will and will not move?

The assets you select will move to your Ready X account.

The following will not move:

  • Your old Ready account address.
  • The transaction history associated with that address.
  • NFTs.
  • Certain active DeFi positions, such as borrowing or STRK staking positions.

You can send one asset, several assets, or all transferable assets. You do not need to move everything in one transaction. The network fees are covered by us.

If you forget to send an asset, you can return and send it later.

If you later discover that your old account contains NFTs, borrowing positions, or other non-transferable assets, you can still use the Import on Ready X option to import the full account.

How do I send my assets to Ready X?

1. Prepare your Ready X account

Make sure you have installed Ready X and created an account as described in the Before you start section above.

We recommend creating a Ready X smart account with email-based 2FA.

If you need to create a new Ready X account, use a different or suffixed email address as explained earlier in this article.

2. Copy your Ready X Starknet address

In Ready X:

  1. Open the account that should receive your assets.
  2. Make sure you are viewing the correct account.
  3. Open the account address or QR code.
  4. Tap Copy.

The destination must be your Starknet address in Ready X.

Do not use an address from Base, Ethereum, or another network.

3. Open the asset transfer flow in Ready app

In the updated Ready app:

  1. Tap Looking for your funds?
  2. Review the Your funds are safe screen.
  3. Tap Send to Ready X.

If you have not installed Ready X yet, Ready will show the Get Ready X first screen. Install Ready X, create your account, and copy its Starknet address before returning to the Ready app.

4. Enter your Ready X address

Once you have copied the address:

  1. Tap I have my Ready X Address.
  2. Paste the address into the address field.
  3. Confirm that the network shown is Starknet.
  4. Compare the full pasted address with the address displayed in Ready X.
  5. Check every character. Do not verify only the first and last characters.
  6. Tap Continue.

Crypto transfers cannot be reversed. If you enter the wrong address, Ready may not be able to recover the assets.

5. Select the assets you want to send

Ready will show the assets that can be sent to the Ready X account.

  1. Use the switches beside each asset to select what you want to move.
  2. You can select one asset or several assets.
  3. You do not need to send everything at once.
  4. Tap Continue.

Assets that cannot be transferred using this method may not appear as available for selection.

6. Review and confirm the transfer

On the Review your transfer screen:

  1. Review every selected asset and the total value being sent.
  2. Check the destination Ready X address again, character by character.
  3. Confirm that the network is Starknet.
  4. Enable the confirmation stating that this is the correct address.
  5. Tap Confirm and send.
  6. Approve the transaction in the Ready app.

Once submitted, the transfer cannot be cancelled or reversed.

7. Check your Ready X account

After the transfer is submitted:

  1. Open Ready X.
  2. Select the account whose address you used.
  3. Check that the assets have arrived.

The assets should normally appear within seconds after the transaction is processed on Starknet.

You can then return to Ready and repeat the process for any remaining transferable assets.

Option 2: Import your entire Starknet account into Ready X

Why should I choose this option?

Choose Import on Ready X if:

  • You have NFTs.
  • You have an active borrowing position.
  • You have STRK staking or another position that cannot be transferred through a normal Send transaction.
  • You want to keep your existing Starknet account address.
  • You want to keep the transaction history associated with that address.
  • You want to manage the complete existing account through Ready X instead of sending assets to a new account.

This process imports the existing Starknet account itself, including its address, assets, transaction history, and positions.

It does not send the assets to a different address.

Important security information

Importing the account is more advanced than sending assets to a new Ready X account.

Before the account can be imported, it must be changed to a standard account by disabling its existing ready guardian protection.

The following limitations apply:

  • The imported account will not be backed up by Ready X.
  • You cannot add email-based 2FA to the imported account.
  • The imported account cannot later be converted into a Ready X smart account.
  • Your private key will be the only way to access and recover the account.
  • You must keep both the private key and the account address somewhere safe.
  • Ready cannot recover the account if you lose the private key.

Never share your private key with anyone. Ready Support will never ask you to send it by email, chat, social media, or any other communication channel.

What happens when I disable ready guardian?

⚠️⚠️⚠️

Disabling ready guardian is permanent and cannot be undone. Once it is disabled, you will no longer be able to manage or send from the account through the Ready app, and the account will no longer have Ready’s existing recovery protection. Your private key will become the only way to access the account, and an imported Ready X account cannot be backed up or protected with email-based 2FA. Save both your private key and public account address securely, verify that you recorded them correctly, and import the account into Ready X immediately. 

If your phone is lost, damaged, reset, or the Ready app is reinstalled after ready guardian is disabled but before the account is imported, you will permanently lose access to the account.

Before disabling ready guardian

Before you continue, make sure that:

  • Ready X is already installed.
  • You know how to open the Import from private key flow.
  • You have securely saved the full private key.
  • You have saved the full public Starknet account address.
  • You have compared anything copied or written down with the information shown in Ready.
  • Your device has enough battery.
  • You have a stable internet connection.
  • You have enough uninterrupted time to complete the import immediately.

Do not intentionally pause between disabling ready guardian and importing the account into Ready X.

How do I import the entire account into Ready X?

1. Open the import flow in Ready

In the updated Ready app:

  1. Tap Looking for your funds?
  2. Review the Your funds are safe screen.
  3. Tap Import on Ready X.

The app will guide you through exporting the information needed to import the account.

2. Export and save your private key

  1. Tap Show my private key.
  2. Read the security warning.
  3. Tap Show private key.
  4. Securely copy or record the complete private key exactly as displayed.
  5. Compare the complete saved private key with the one shown in Ready, character by character.
  6. Do not verify only the first and last characters.
  7. Enable the confirmation stating that you have saved the private key.
  8. Tap Confirm and continue.

Do not share the private key with anyone.

Do not continue until you are certain that you have saved the entire key correctly and can access it during the Ready X import.

3. Disable ready guardian

Ready must disable the account’s existing ready guardian protection before Ready X can import the account using its private key.

  1. Read the Disable ready guardian warning.
  2. Confirm that you understand the action cannot be undone.
  3. Tap Disable and continue.
  4. Approve the transaction.
  5. Wait for the ready guardian disabled confirmation.

After this step, the old Starknet account can no longer be used through the normal Ready app interface.

Continue directly to the Ready X import.

4. Save your public Starknet account address

Ready X requires both:

  • The account’s public Starknet address.
  • The account’s private key.

If you do not already have the address:

  1. In the Ready import screen, tap Show my public address.
  2. Copy or securely record the complete address.
  3. Confirm that the address begins with 0x.
  4. Compare the full saved address with the address shown in Ready, character by character.
  5. Do not check only the first and last characters.
  6. Keep the address together with the private key until the import is complete.

The public address is not secret, but it must be entered correctly.

5. Open the account import flow in Ready X

Immediately open Ready X.

  1. Tap the account switcher at the top of the Ready X screen.
  2. Tap Add account.
  3. Select Import from private key.
  4. Tap Continue.

Do not select Standard Account. That option creates a new account rather than importing the existing one.

6. Enter the account details

On the Import private key screen:

  1. Confirm that the network is Mainnet.
  2. Enter the public Starknet account address copied from Ready.
  3. Enter the private key exported from Ready.
  4. Compare both entries with the information you saved.
  5. Check every character carefully.
  6. Tap Import.

The account address and private key must belong to the same Ready account.

7. Confirm that the account was imported

After the import is complete:

  1. Open the imported account in Ready X.
  2. Confirm that the full account address matches your old Ready Starknet address.
  3. Review the token balances.
  4. Check your NFTs and DeFi positions.
  5. Confirm that your transaction history and positions are available.

Keep the private key and public account address stored safely even after the import is complete.

The imported account is not backed up and cannot use Ready X email-based 2FA.

I only see the option to recover on the web

Web recovery is a last-resort option.

You may see Recover on the web if the Ready app can no longer access the Starknet keys needed to send or import the account, but you still have access to the email address linked to the account. The guide can be found here (available after Base update).
