How Ready works
Instead of asking you to manage a seed phrase, the Ready mobile app uses passkeys together with a secure wallet recovery process.
Your wallet remains self-custodial, meaning only you can authorize transactions and control your funds.
Is my wallet still secure?
Yes.
When you create your wallet, your private key is generated on your device and stored securely using your phone's built-in security features, such as the Secure Enclave on supported devices.
Your private key is encrypted and is never stored or transmitted in plain text.
How do I recover my wallet?
If you lose access to your device, you can recover your wallet using Ready's secure recovery process.
Recovery includes multiple security checks and a mandatory 48-hour security delay to help protect your wallet from unauthorized recovery attempts.
Why doesn't Ready use a seed phrase?
Removing the need to manage a seed phrase helps reduce the risk of:
- Losing your seed phrase.
- Someone finding or stealing your seed phrase.
- Mistakes when backing up or restoring your wallet.
