A passkey is a secure way to sign in to your Ready account and recover access without using passwords or verification codes.
Passkeys use the security features built into your device, such as Face ID, your fingerprint, or your device PIN. Your passkey is stored securely on your device and is never shared with Ready.
Why are passkeys more secure?
Passkeys provide stronger protection than passwords or text message verification because they:
- Protect against phishing and SIM swap attacks.
- Can only be used on devices you approve.
- Require biometric verification or your device PIN.
- Allow you to quickly sign in on a new device if your passkeys are synced through your Apple, Google, or password manager account.
What does Ready store?
Ready does not store your:
- Passkey.
- Biometric data.
- Fingerprint.
- Face ID data.
- Device PIN.
Instead, Ready stores only the public cryptographic key associated with your passkey. This public key is used to verify your identity but cannot be used to access your account or recreate your passkey.
Your private cryptographic key always remains securely stored on your device or within your encrypted password manager ecosystem.
