We're excited to share the next chapter of Ready.
In mid-August, the Ready app will move from Starknet to Base and focus on holding and spending digital dollars through a self-custodial account.
This means the current Ready app experience is changing, but your assets remain safe and under your control.
What is changing?
When the updated Ready app launches, every existing user will automatically receive a new self-custodial account on Base.
Your current Starknet assets won't move to this new account automatically.
Because your Starknet account is self-custodial, only you can authorize moving your assets.
What should I do before August 15?
If your Starknet account contains tokens, NFTs, or DeFi positions, we recommend moving them before August 15.
You have two options.
Option 1: Move your assets to Ready X (recommended)
Ready X is our self-custody wallet for Starknet and is the recommended option for most users.
With Ready X, you can continue to:
- Send and receive assets.
- Swap tokens.
- Stake and manage DeFi positions.
- Bridge assets to other chains.
Ready X is available on mobile and as a browser extension.
Option 2: Move your assets to another wallet
You can also use Layerswap directly from the Ready app to move your assets to another wallet.
To use Layerswap:
- Open the Browser tab in the Ready app.
- Open layerswap.io/app.
- Select Starknet as the source network.
- Choose the destination network and destination wallet.
- Review the transaction and confirm.
Important: Some exchanges delay or block deposits that arrive from third-party addresses, which is how Layerswap transfers work. If you're moving assets to an exchange, send them to a wallet you control on the destination chain first, then deposit them to your exchange from that wallet.
What happens if I don't move my assets before August 15?
Your assets will remain safe and under your control.
After the Ready app moves to Base, it will no longer support Starknet accounts. However, you'll still be able to access your assets through Ready X.
Depending on what you want to recover, you'll have two options:
Send your tokens to Ready X
This is the simpler option and supports all tokens. DeFi positions and NFTs can't be transferred this way.
Recover your full Starknet account in Ready X
Choose this option if you want to keep your existing account address, transaction history, DeFi positions, or NFTs.
Full account recovery includes a mandatory seven-day security waiting period.
We'll publish a step-by-step recovery guide before the migration.
Moving your assets before August 15 is the fastest and easiest option.
Why is Ready moving to Base?
The new Ready experience is built around holding and spending digital dollars through a self-custodial account.
Base provides:
- Fast, low-cost transactions.
- Strong stablecoin liquidity.
- Connections to a growing onchain ecosystem.
We believe it provides the right foundation for everyday payments while Ready X continues supporting Starknet.
Will my assets move automatically?
No.
Your Starknet assets won't move automatically because your wallet is self-custodial. Only you can authorize moving your assets.
I don't have any assets. Do I need to do anything?
No.
If your Ready account doesn't contain any tokens, NFTs, or DeFi positions, you don't need to take any action. Your new Base account will be created automatically when the updated app becomes available.
Does this affect my Ready Card?
The current Ready Card is being deactivated separately as we move to a new card issuer.
This change is independent of the migration from Starknet to Base. We'll share separate information about the new Ready Card, including availability, closer to launch.

You'll still be able to retrieve them through Ready X.
You can either:
- Send your supported tokens to Ready X.

It lets you send and receive assets, swap tokens, stake, manage DeFi positions, and bridge assets to other chains.
Unlike the Ready app, Ready X is secured by a seed phrase.
Store your seed phrase somewhere safe and never share it with anyone. Ready will never ask for your seed phrase.
Why are you giving such short notice?
We understand this is a significant change, especially if you use Ready every day.
We're sharing migration information as early as possible and will continue publishing guides and tutorials to help you move your assets safely before the migration.
